The 8 Best Italian Restaurants in West London

10 Mar 2022 Alex

If you had to eat one country’s cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be? Italian? Yep, us too. The great starters, followed by pizza, pasta, meat and fish dishes, and all washed down with fantastic wines and crisp lagers make Italian food difficult to beat. And the good news is, our apartments in Wembley Park are just a gnocchi’s throw away from some of the best Italian restaurants in West London.

Join us on a carb-fuelled romp around the Italian restaurants within a short walk or tube ride from Wembley Park. And with Wembley Park Underground Station right on your doorstep, you won’t have far to travel for some of the best meals West London has to offer.

Our 8 favourite West London Italian restaurants

1) Pasta Remoli, Wembley Park

If you’re all about the pasta, then Pasta Remoli, which is conveniently located at the bottom of our Landsby apartments, is difficult to beat. It specialises in fast homemade pasta and sauces served in a relaxed environment.

Just choose your favourite pasta, which is made from scratch on-site, and add your choice of sauce and cheese. You can grab it on the go - a dangerous prospect if you live nearby - or enjoy it at a more relaxed pace in the on-site trattoria.

As well as pasta dishes, there’s also a tasty selection of antipasti, desserts and traditional Italian dishes. And if you’re really hungry, you can even turn your pasta craving into a bottomless brunch.

2) Pizzeria Mozza, Marylebone

It’s always comforting to know that truly great pizza is less than 20 minutes away. Just a short hop on the Tube followed by a three-minute walk will take you from your Quintain Living apartment to Pizzeria Mozza in Marylebone.

This is sourdough queen Nancy Silverton’s first London opening and the food certainly lives up to the hype. On the menu you’ll find Mozza classics with toppings such as fennel sausage with fior di latte mozzarella and red onions; smoked pancetta, guanciale, onion cream and aioli; and courgette blossoms with burrata. There are also some delicious appetisers, such as the roasted baby peppers with tuna, along with an abundance of good Italian wines and signature cocktails like the Sicilian Highball and Mozza Martini.

3) Mimmo La Bufala, West Hampstead

There are plenty of great Italian restaurants in West Hampstead and the independent Mimmo La Bufala is up there with the best of them. This smart and modern restaurant features an authentic Southern Italian menu, including Neapolitan-style pizzas along with other classics prepared with a contemporary flair. Prices are reasonable, with pasta dishes costing between £9 and £16 and the wood oven-fired pizzas coming in at around £13.

Better still, Mimma La Bufala offers a takeaway service, so you can enjoy a little taste of Naples in the comfort of your West London home.

4) Ecco’la Pizzeria, Wembley Park

If you’re simply not in the mood to jump on the Tube to get your fix of authentic Italian food, you’ll be happy to know you have a thriving independent pizzeria right on your doorstep. Ecco’la Pizzeria is one of Wembley Park’s best Italian restaurants and it has the reviews to boot. Opened by Qemajl, a pizza maker from Pescara, Ecco’la has been producing fresh, homemade pizzas and pasta dishes for the locals for seven years. It’s very friendly and reasonably priced.

5) Zizzi, Wembley Park

Zizzi might be a chain - but for good reason. They feature a host of mouth watering dishes suitable for all dietary requirements (veggie, vegan, gluten-free… you name it) at reasonable prices - and there’s something undeniably comforting about visiting a restaurant you’re already familiar with. Enjoy classics you know and love, like their traditional pizzas and pastas, or sample some tasty twists, like their lamb and tomato rigatoni and goat's cheese and caramelised onion arancini. Plus it’s located right in Wembley Park, so it’s incredibly easy to get to from our apartments. Good food, great location and a relaxed atmosphere - what’s not to love?

6) Trattoria Urbana, West Hampstead

Trattoria Urbana is a family-run Italian restaurant in the heart of West Hampstead village. It features many classic Italian dishes as well as specialities such as the Barolo beef stew, black truffle arancini, Milanese si funghi and a prodigious Lobster salad. And if you’re not too full from mains, there are some excellent desserts and pastries that you can get stuck into before making the short trip home.

7) Terra Terra, South Hampstead

Inspired by the bustling food markets of Bologna and Florence, Terra Terra, another fantastic independent, is one of the best Italian restaurants in West London and beyond. Head chef Massimo Mioli serves up signature dishes that celebrate the best of Italian produce, with the Ricotta Ravioli and the delicious Aubergine Parmigiana being two of the favourites among the many loyal locals.

The menu is simple but inviting and is served in sleek surroundings, with the choice to  dine within the restaurant itself or the beautiful covered terrace. There’s also an exciting cocktail list overseen by award-winning mixologist Walter Pintus, with plenty of innovative concoctions to try.

8) L’Antica Pizzeria, Hampstead

If pizza is your passion, there’s no better London pizzeria to visit than L’Antica. Their dishes are cooked to perfection in their wood-fired ovens and they promise a traditional Neapolitan taste - so you can definitely expect to be living bella vita (the good life) at this authentic Italian eatery. Try their wide selection of pizzas (toppings range from classic cheeses, meats and veggies to interesting additions like wild broccoli and truffle oil) or branch out with a pasta dish or salad. Whatever you choose, your taste buds are sure to be immediately transported to the Mediterranean.
