Quintain Living's Kitchen Fire Suppression System

At Quintain Living, your safety is our top priority. Due to the unique layout of your apartment, additional firefighting equipment has been installed in line with the fire strategy to enhance your protection. This includes a gas suppression system located above your kitchen hob extraction hood.
What is a fire suppression system?
KitchenSafe is a fully automatic fire suppression system designed specifically for residential and domestic kitchens. It utilises advanced digital technology to swiftly detect and respond to high temperatures and fire conditions, ensuring the safety of your home and loved ones.
How does it work?
If a fire risk is detected, KitchenSafe responds automatically without the need for manual action. Here’s how it works:
1) Smart heat detection
• Digital sensors continuously monitor for high temperatures and fire conditions near your induction hob
2) Early warning alarm
• If the temperature exceeds 70°C, an alarm sounds to warn you
• Important: Avoid open flames (like flambéing), as this may trigger the system. If the alarm sounds, turn off any heat source immediately
3) Automatic fire suppression (if the temperature keeps rising)
The system takes immediate action to prevent a fire by:
• Releasing a dry gas suppression agent to extinguish flames
• Cutting off the power to the hob
• Notifying the front desk

What to do if the fire suppression system activates?
If there's ever an activation, we kindly ask all residents to leave the apartment and have someone notify the Resident team by either heading to the front desk or calling 0203 219 2165. If it’s activated outside 20:00 – 08:00, you will need to head down to the front desk and speak to our Night team. Once it’s safe to do so, either our Resident or Night team will ensure the space is well-ventilated and safe for you to return to the apartment.
After you return to your apartment, you will need to clean up any mess on your induction hob and kitchen area from the suppression agent. You will also need to let the Maintenance team know that your system’s tank needs a refill by using the ‘Report an issue’ feature in the Quintain Living Resident App or emailing emailing [email protected].
